The #Just5Minutes Team is raising $2,500 for EDS Wellness. Please show your support and donate generously.

Message from Team Just 5 Minutes:

EDS Wellness was developed over the last 5 years based on personal and professional experiences, mixed with a ton of determination to help those living with EDS, find ways to live as well as possible. EDS Wellness focuses on what we can do, not what we can’t.

What is the mission of “Just 5 Minutes?”

“Motivation for life, and mission to heal, restore and empower the human spirit – one yoga mat at a time. #Just5Minutes at a time.”

The “Just 5 Minutes” initiative is about creating a movement. It’s about spreading awareness through a shared message. It’s about working together to help build momentum and the motivation to do something for 5 minutes each day — because something is better than nothing.

The “Just 5 Minutes” mission is a program developed to help provide yoga mats and other necessary PT and home restorative exercise equipment for those living with EDS and other hypermobility syndromes.

Where did “Just 5 Minutes” come from?

“Just 5 minutes” first started as a way to make myself move when I did not want to; however, it has become a “rule” that other people identify with because it’s easy and tangible. The “Just 5 Minutes” rule is an initiative of EDS Wellness, Inc. and provided the very essence for its foundation.

Why are the “Just 5 Minutes” rule so important?

The “Just 5 Minutes” rule is important because it often helps provide the motivation people need to move in some way. Individuals who have a type of hypermobility syndrome, such as Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, maintaining an active lifestyle and ensuring that the muscles have tone and strength is critical because, the muscles do the work that the connective tissues cannot.

Even if all you can do is “move” your mind to focus on being present/meditate for “Just 5 Minutes” while sitting still on a yoga mat or in bed, that’s fantastic and is better than doing nothing.

About EDS Wellness:

The EDS Ride for a Cause, both the local event and the virtual fundraiser through Charity Footprints, will help ensure that EDS Wellness’ “official” launch, its mission and programs, are successful.

You can also participate this Sunday locally – Join us for our 2nd Annual EDS Ride for a Cause at Zengo Cycle on 12/4 at 1 pm!

TODAY is the LAST day to register for the EDS Ride for A Cause at Zengo Cycle on Sunday. We need 13 more people to either sign up or donate a bike seat to hold the first fundraiser for EDS Wellness. My hope is that we have enough last-minute registrants who will sign-up by tomorrow so that we don not have to cancel this event for the 2nd time.

Plus, I’m up for a good workout!

You do not have to be local to participate or be able to take part in this campaign. You can either donate a bike seat in honor of yourself or honor of someone else — bike seats are $35.

Go to www.zengocycle.com to buy a bike seat or to register for the local EDS Ride for a Cause.

OR: (You can do both!)
